New Hongik is not just an expansion of the campus, but a central structure located at its heart. It consists of four independent horizontal layers, each with a unique character. The sunken garden brings in the greenery of Wausan, and the porous ground level draws the city into the campus. Above it, the auditorium ring connects the campus, and the rooftop garden and symbolic pavilions of special programs express the campus towards the city.
